Share your FriendFeed activity on Twitter

We want to make it easier for you to share your FriendFeed activity on the web services you're already using. Now you can publish your FriendFeed updates directly to Twitter.

To enable this feature, go to your Account page and find the 'Post my FriendFeed entries on Twitter' checkbox under the Feed publishing section. Checking this box will reveal more options. You can publish all your public entries, all your public comments, or both. You can also choose to publish entries from all your services or only share the entries from specific services you've selected.

After you've had a chance to try it out, let us know how well it's working for you in the FriendFeed Feedback room.

I only have one suggestion. Rather than having all services turned ON, I'd suggest that the default configuration have all services turned OFF. I realize that this means that the feature "won't work" unless you make changes, but if a lot of people blindly accept the defaults, their Twitter accounts are going to be flooded, resulting in negative feelings, unfollows in Twitter, unsubscriptions in FriendFeed, and possibly nuclear holocaust. (Or something similar.)

If this isn't suitable, then perhaps a suggestion should be offered that people review the settings and take the time to exclude anything that they DON'T want to post to Twitter.

I have two Twitter accounts. For one account, I'm only echoing posts from a single blog to Twitter. For the other account (which is infrequently used), I have this feature turned off at present; if I were to turn it on, even on a limited basis, links would dominate that Twitter feed, which isn't good.

I just read Josh Bancroft's suggestion in the comment thread here. His idea, in which the FriendFeed item (and no other) would be checked, is probably a better idea than my original one.

What a great addition. What about if someone comments on one of my feed items? does that come through also?

Awesome! This turns FF into a social connection hub of sorts, and I'm hoping it will allow my Twitter based micromedia projects to rely less on Twitterfeed.

So now Twitter will look more like Jaiku. That's not cool, sorry.
I prefer FF as my lifestream aggregator and Twitter as my micro-blog-talk thing.

cool talk about an all purpose twitterfeed, switching to it now to see how it works out

I really love the idea, but not the implementation. Imported Posts (from a user feed) should link back to their origin, not to the ff entry IMO. As it is now, it just creates redundant redundancies. :)

i hate this, i click on somebody's link in twitter and get sent to bleeping friendfeed .. lousy deal for me

I'm loving this! Now I can hook up my gReader shared items with FF (which has already hooked up to my blogs--and everything else), and have all of this data streamed to my Facebook account (whose status is hooked up with Twitter).

Life is good!

Okay - I'm game, but quite worried that I and all my facebook friends and Twitter friends are going to be bathed in an activity-data feedback storm.

I already have a bad case of FriendFeed Stutter, where every Facebook status update gets piped into FF and back into my FB news feed.

I'm now thinking there's a great prank to be played in here somewhere...

Wow! I just discovered this new feature in Friendfeed. I am impressed not only with the IM notifications and interactivity but the integration with Twitter is a blockbuster. And the ability to choose which services get fed to twitter is brilliant. Plus, that the items link to their original content only makes sense and is greatly appreciated. :) Well done.

Okay, here's my issue: When I do this....every time I post on Twitter, it posts on FriendFeed, which in turn posts that post again on Twitter?

Am I making sense? How do I avoid this?
