Ross's FriendFeed Tutorial #3: FriendFeed Rooms

We launched the FriendFeed rooms in May, and the feature has been really popular. I just put together an overview video so people new to FriendFeed can learn about how rooms work and the interesting rooms they can create or join:

Oh hell yes, you've got AnswerFeed! Long live AnswerFeed!

(Clearly I'm biased, but AnswerFeed's useful)

Great, but I would love to see that you can add a personal service to a Room. So, for example, I want all my Google Reader shared items went to the room automatically, and all the other members of the group can do the same.

Would be great.

On the topic of rooms... I've got a feature request.

Being able to display images inline when sharing something would be very useful. Either displaying an image when the link points to a image, or the possibility to use something like [IMG] tags...

Me and a couple of friends are utilizing a friendfeed room almost as a forum, which it does very well except for one small detail. When writing longer messages it sucks to not being able to use line breaks.

Apart from those two gripe,. Rooms are really good. Makes FriendFeed useful.

Hey guys,

I really liked the idea behind rooms.
But, i do not see any value add as an email actually does the same function: make sure the information is sent across email recipients and no one else....

Is there something I am missing??

This is great... but how would I look for a room. For instance I like Macs, I have one and I think that they are cool. I figure that there must a public room for Mac lovers so I try a search and all I really see are articles that people have tagged. So how would I find a room?
