You can now share files on FriendFeed

One of my favorite things about FriendFeed is how quick and easy it is to upload and post a photo. Now, we’ve added the capability to share files as well. You can easily attach any file, such as a PDF or a spreadsheet, to your FriendFeed post.

To share files on friendfeed.com, simply click the "Files" link underneath the post box and select which files you want to include. You can also share files by including them as attachments on emails sent to share@friendfeed.com. (Learn more about posting via email.)

This has been an especially popular request from organizations and companies that collaborate using FriendFeed groups. We’ve certainly been using this feature internally and have found it extremely useful. We hope it’ll help make you and your collaborators even more productive, and a little more attached to FriendFeed.

    But the first the first question came to my mind was "what's the maximum file size?"

    And is there any other limitations we should be aware of?

    but file size pretty important. i couldn't find any cancel button during upload.

    So many questions unanswered!

    What's the max upload size? Is it cumulative on a daily basis, or is there also a limit for single files?

    When will movie files be allowed?

    When do uploaded files expire, or are they available and downloadable forever?

    While uploading audio files, it says,

    You can only upload 3 audio files every day. Please try again later.

    I tried uploading a 42MB PDF and its been sitting on processing for more than an hour so that might be too big.

    Would appreciate if FF can also link the documents to an inline viewer (like Scribd) so one can read them without downloading from FF.

    Max file size would be nice to know. Also, isn't this opening up FF to problems with copyright issues? Or is there some sort of filter on what can or cannot be uploaded? Otherwise, this could be a really easy way to share 'illegal' files.
